Who We Are

The Parkland Athletic Club, or PAC Saints, is a not-for-profit club offering AA and AAA hockey programs in the Parkland County area. We are a sub-committee reporting to Spruce Grove Minor Hockey Association (SGMHA).  Our objective is to provide young hockey players with a high-quality, elite hockey experience that promotes both hockey and life skills development. We are responsible to achieve this in a safe, challenging, and fun environment.

The PAC Saints are a grassroots organization with a strong commitment to our communities, players, and our families. We rely on the support of local businesses, volunteers, and families to make our program successful. Our partnering providers are also a part of our communities.

Depending on the Division/Level, our Association is comprised of players from the following Draw Zone Minor Hockey Associations:

  • CR Knights (U16AA level)
  • Edson
  • Enoch
  • Fox Creek
  • Hinton (Jasper)
  • Pembina
  • Spruce Grove
  • Stony Plain (Onoway)
  • Whitecourt (TRAC)

Players from outside the Parkland County area who wish to relocate to the area can participate in the PAC Billet Program. Parkland Athletic Club : Billet Information

Location

Our teams’ practices are primarily based in rinks within Spruce Grove but may extend to other facilities in the vicinity (ex. Calahoo, Enoch). Home games are played out of the Grant Fuhr Arena, Transalta TriLeisure Centre or Glenn Hall Arena. Opening in 2025, our teams will also be using the brand new Heavy Metal Place facility.

Governance

  • As a subcommittee of SGMHA, the PAC Committee must abide by all applicable bylaws, policies and procedures of SGMHA: Spruce Grove Minor Hockey Association Information
  • Decisions made by the Parkland Athletic Club must not negatively impact SGMHA, nor any of the Minor Hockey Associations within the draw zone.
  • The committee endeavours to be transparent and to always act with integrity and in the best interests of players.

Our Philosophy

Persistence

Attitude

Commitment

We aim to build success at all levels – Individual, Team, and Association-wide. We define success as the ability for teams to be competitive in all games, while providing opportunities for all players to develop in all situations and to improve throughout the season.

This is promoted by our division structure that allows us to maximize the number of players we are exposing to Elite hockey. It is also achieved by establishing a strong connection and culture amongst our teams, players, coaches and committee members.

PAC Culture

  • Team Unity & Respect – A successful club fosters a sense of belonging, where players, coaches, and staff respect one another and work toward shared goals. Trust and accountability are essential.
  • Player Development – Prioritizing skill development, mentorship, and growth ensures players reach their full potential, both on and off the ice.
  • Sportsmanship & Integrity – Encouraging fair play, discipline, and ethical behavior helps create a positive environment that reflects well on the club and its members.
  • Community Engagement – A great hockey club connects with its local community, supporting youth programs, charitable initiatives, and fostering a strong fan base.
  • Inclusivity & Safety – Ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for all players, regardless of background, and maintaining a safe environment for competition and training.
  • Leadership & Coaching – Strong leadership from coaches and management sets the tone for the club’s culture, guiding players with clear expectations and support.
  • Tradition & Identity – Establishing a club identity, values, and traditions helps build pride and loyalty among players and supporters.

Our Program

Our program starts with a strong Coaching staff consisting of experienced Head and Assistant Coaches, Goalie-focused coaches and a Trainer (for contact divisions) supported by the Team Manager and multiple other volunteer positions. Additionally, PAC partners with multiple private vendors to offer specialized programming to promote holistic player development.

Each Division is supported by a Level Director with additional support provided by the Club’s Chair, Past-Chair, Vice President of Operations and the Manager Director.

Team Trainers report to the PAC Head Trainer to ensure the highest level of player safety, injury management and return to play.
